Oops! Cat accidentally donated to charity reunited with family
A charitable donation is always a good idea - but make sure you check inside every pocket, or in this case, couch cushion!

A family in Denver, Colorado was preparing for a move when they lost track of their cat, Montequlla. Unbeknownst to them, beloved Montequlla had been found in the armchair they donated to a thrift store. The local animal shelter was called and they attempted to scan his microchip, but it hadn’t been updated, so Montequlla waited at the store for his owners to return.

Luckily, Montequlla’s family eventually thought to call the thrift store, and the grumpy kitty was reunited with his teary eyed family hours after he had been accidentally donated.

Let this be a lesson to curious kitties and busy humans - always make sure your cozy spot isn’t too hidden, and always check your armchairs!

DIY Cardboard Cat Scratcher
Need a new interactive toy for your cat, or just have a large collection of delivery boxes? This craft is purr-fect!

  • What you’ll need: Cardboard (maybe you’ve been ordering more things online lately like us!), ruler, craft knife, cut-resistant gloves (optional but optimal for safety), glue

  • Step 1: Cut the cardboard into two inch wide strips. A quilting ruler can help easily ensure the pieces are even, but a regular ruler works as well.

  • Step 2: Score the cardboard. Cut vertical lines into the strips of cardboard about .25 inches apart so that the next step is easier.

  • Step 3: Start rolling the cardboard into a spiral. With the scored side up, roll the cardboard into a spiral, applying glue along the bottom to keep it together.

  • Step 4: Continue adding to the spiral. Attach each new piece to the spiral with glue until you reach the size you want. Make sure it’s large enough for your cat to comfortably lounge on!

Voila, you’ve got an easy and affordable cat scratcher!

Read the Breaking Cat News comic that makes our mornings
If you’re looking for an extra dose of cat cuteness and also appreciate art, we’ve found you a treat. Georgia Dunn is a comic artist who creates a new cat comic everyday, entitled “Breaking Cat News.”

This daily comic is about Dunn’s three pet cats, Elvis, Puck, and Lupin, and sometimes features her two human children as well. All three cats were unique in their own way: Lupin was abandoned by his mother, Elvis was an extremely scared and shy kitten, and Puck lost his leg but survived and is now thriving!

You can see the personalities of these three cats in the comics, Lupin the brave and curious one, Puck the food loving and relaxed one, and Elvis the super sweet cuddly one. You’ll also meet some other cat reporters and even a few humans.

Check out today’s comic and see what the cat reporters get up to!

Answer: Nose! Under a magnifying class every cat has a unique pattern of bumps and ridges, much like a human fingerprint.
